Nexus Law Group

Nexus Law Group works under an open law model, using a bespoke digital practice management system to facilitates high-levels of interaction and communication for its geographically remote lawyers and administrators.

The judges commended the firm’s allocation of unit credits per use of know-how created – they felt it was a very innovative approach to knowledge sharing and also their incentives for precedents.

“Innovation is integral to everything we do. Nexus was founded on the belief that the profession has to continually evolve and that it is possible to structure a practice in a way which benefits both lawyer and client.

Doing things differently, has not been easy within a profession which is dominated by such a traditional working model. Nexus has had to adapt everything from the way we articulate what we do, through to our practice management software and even how we obtain insurance for our practitioners. It was for this reason that we chose to complete the 2014 Legal Innovation Index – we simply want to share our experience with the broader market as evolution can only benefit the profession as a whole. We also found that completing the Index gave us a great opportunity to review our own processes and consider new ways in which Nexus could deliver more for our lawyers and clients.

Lexis Nexis and Janders Dean have done a superb job in bringing together some of the most innovative in the market, not just to present awards, but to recognise those who are working differently and to share that knowledge.”
