Gary Newton

LLB

Gary Newton is a partner in the Property & Development Group of Colin Biggers & Paisley, with expertise in conveyancing, commercial and retail leasing, real estate subdivisions and developments. He provides a wide range of property related legal advice to business, government and individuals. He joined Colin Biggers & Paisley as a partner in 2002.

Gary is co-author and co-editor of a new book titled Annotated Conveyancing & Real Property Legislation in NSW (2013). Gary is also the co-author of LexisNexis Butterworth's NSW Conveyancing Service. He has authored other books on land law as well as numerous articles. He has been a keynote speaker and chairman at various property law master classes.

Gary is a committee member of the Darling Point Society and the Honorary Secretary of NSW Rostrum, a major public speaking organisation. He is a Freeman of Rostrum which is a title given to the members of Rostrum who have made outstanding contributions to Rostrum and to the public. He is also on the organising committee of The Voice of Youth, which is a high school public speaking competition throughout Australia.

Gary was admitted as a solicitor in NSW in 1983 and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of NSW, Federal Court and High Court of Australia. Gary has been an Accredited Specialist in Property Law since 1994.
